Ms Heard said the event took place shortly after an incident in Australia in early March, where she said: ‘Johnny held me down on the counter and my arms were cut on the glass during this attack “.
More photos from a second red carpet event – for the magic mike press tour – were shown in court, revealing multiple scars on Ms Heard’s left arm as she brushes her hair from her face.
Ms Heard said she had tried covering up the scars with make-up but they were “a little harder to cover up as they are quite cool”.
She said that Mr. Depp did not want her to participate in the press tour.
The ex-spouses gave starkly different accounts of the incident in Australia in March 2015.
Ms. Heard testified that Mr. Depp sexually assaulted her with a bottle of liquor. Mr. Depp testified that Ms. Heard threw a bottle of vodka at him, which cut the top of his middle finger.
During Ms Heard’s testimony, she said Mr Depp “slammed me hard against the wall” and called her by all names.
She said he threw her on a ping pong table, threw a bottle in her direction and held a broken bottle next to her face and neck, saying he would “cut [her] Face”.
Ms Heard said she was ‘terrified’ as she could ‘feel the glass shattering behind [her]”.
At one point, she said Mr. Depp ripped off her nightgown, leaving her naked.
She said Mr Depp found himself “above [her]”, telling him that she had “ruined [his] fucking life”.
“Next thing I remember I was leaning back on the bar which means my chest was up. I was looking at the blue light. My back is on the counter and I thought it was hitting me. J “I felt that pressure on my pubic bone. I thought he was hitting me. I could feel his arm move and it felt like he was hitting me. But I could just feel that pressure,” she said.
“I remember not wanting to move because I didn’t know he was broken – I didn’t know if the bottle he had inside me was broken.
“I couldn’t feel it. I didn’t feel any pain. I didn’t feel any pain. I didn’t feel anything. …I looked around and saw so much broken glass. … I just remember thinking ‘Please God, please. I hope it’s not broken.
Ms Heard said she took sleeping pills after the incident and woke up to find Mr Depp ‘missing a finger’, which she said could have happened when Mr Depp smashed a phone more early.
During this time, Mr. Depp testified that Ms. Heard was throwing glass bottles in his direction.
The first went “right past my head and crashed behind me”, he said.
When he said he grabbed another bottle and poured himself a drink and drank it, he said Ms Heard grabbed the bottle and threw it at him.
He alleged that the bottle “made contact” with him and “shattered all over”.
“I didn’t feel the pain at all at first,” he said. “I felt no pain. I felt warmth and felt like something was running down my hand. And then I looked down and realized that the tip of my finger had been cut, and I looked directly at my bones sticking out.
Mr Depp said the ‘blood was just flowing’ and the incident was ‘probably the closest I’ve come’ to a nervous breakdown.
“Nothing made sense. I knew in my mind and in my heart, this is not life, this is not life. No one should have to go through this,” he said.
“And like I said, this feeling of being in the middle of some kind of nervous breakdown, I started writing in my own blood on the walls little reminders of our past that were basically lies that she had told me, and the lies that I had had taken her into it.
Ms Heard returned to the stand for a third day of testimony as the trial resumed after a week-long hiatus on Monday.
Mr Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post where she describes herself as a “public figure representing domestic violence”.
the Pirates of the Caribbean The actor is not named in the article, which is titled “I spoke out against sexual violence – and faced the wrath of our culture. This must change”.
However, Mr Depp claims this falsely implies he is a domestic abuser – which he strongly denies – and has left him struggling to land roles in Hollywood. He’s suing for $50 million.
Ms Heard is fighting back for $100million, accusing Mr Depp of orchestrating a ‘smear campaign’ against her and describing her lawsuit as a continuation of ‘abuse and harassment’.
